  Chris Hollar

Chris HollarMr. Christopher Hollar is the first appointed Director of Jazz and Athletic Bands at Texas A&M University. In this position, he initiated, created and serves as the Director of the University Jazz Ensembles and Hullabaloo Athletic Band program. Mr. Hollar joined the Texas A&M University band staff in June of 2004.

Mr. Hollar earned both his Bachelor and Master of Music in Jazz Studies from the University of Tennessee. During his time at Tennessee, he was awarded an undergraduate scholarship in jazz percussion and a graduate teaching assistantship responsible for directing and administrating marching and concert percussion for the University of Tennessee Bands. Mr. Hollar has also taught percussion at Maryville College and Anderson County High School in Tennessee, and at Mars Hill College in North Carolina.

Mr. Hollar is an accomplished jazz / studio drummer and educator from Knoxville and the East Tennessee area where he maintained a very active professional playing and teaching career, and is a former member of the Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corps.
